The Faculty of Arts and Sciences was established in the first semester of the academic year 2013/2014 AD, after its separation from the Faculty of Educational Sciences.

These departments accept their needs from students, to make them important building blocks in building the nation, and this requires the development of purposeful scientific plans that are in line with the nature of technological and scientific developments in various fields of life, and the faculty updates and develops these plans according to those developments

The faculty attracts distinguished faculty members in all disciplines, and it includes specialized trained and qualified administrative staff, which is in turn reflected in the educational outputs of this faculty, to provide the labor market with graduates armed with knowledge and knowledge, thus meeting the needs of the labor market in Jordan and abroad.

The faculty witnessed an expansion in the field of postgraduate studies and scientific research in the departments that grant master’s and doctoral degrees, and this was represented by attracting faculty members with high scientific ranks, and in accepting numbers of students from all countries of the Arab world and the Islamic world.

The Faculty of Arts and Sciences seeks to be distinguished in the specializations it offers that are compatible with the labor market, and contribute to supplying this market with qualified students, who have a high ability to compete at the global level.

The Faculty of Arts and Sciences seeks to achieve academic and administrative achievement in an honorable manner, as it combines various disciplines: Arabic language and literature, English language and literature, humanities, and general sciences, most of which grant higher academic degrees, master's and doctoral degrees. In the near future, we hope that this faculty will occupy a prestigious academic position at the level of Jordanian, Arab, Islamic and international universities. We strive with all our energies for the faculty to succeed and continue to give, to graduate generations that the nation will elevate, to be effective and productive actors, and we will work to adopt modern education methods in various ways and means, to develop the future generation, to face the challenges and difficulties of life. The teaching and administrative staff will remain the focus of our attention, and we always seek to support their capabilities and skills for the success of the university, and for it to continue giving and building. May God help us all to serve this country and this university, under the auspices of the builder of the renaissance of the nation’s civilization and science, His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein, may God Almighty protect him.

Objectives :

The faculty seeks to achieve the following goals: 

First - The field of developing and updating study programs and academic accreditation of majors, as following:

• • -The faculty programs depend on clear outputs that raise the level of academic performance, based on three axes: the cultural and knowledge axis, the axis of skills and practical training, and the axis of values.
• • -Developing units supporting the educational process such as guidance, laboratories, halls, etc., to be a tributary to the educational process, and facilitate the process of transformation.
• • -Qualifying faculty members and training them to practice effective teaching methods and apply the principles of learning in their lectures, so that the student is the focus of the educational process. 
• • -Organizing workshops and courses that ensure faculty members develop their performance and skills in teaching methods, or in the use of technology in classrooms, or e-learning.
• • -Achieving quality standards in education.
• -Achieving reputation and trust among employers and the labor market.
• -Willingness to work continuously in order to implement quality standards in all academic programs.
• Working on developing a system for evaluating the performance of faculty members, in which the member, the department head, the dean, and the University Measurement and Evaluation Center participate, and it adopts the areas of: teaching performance, scientific effort, university and community service, and is based on legal procedures

Second - The field of strengthening the Arab and Islamic identity:

• -Contributing to spreading religious awareness among the members of society, and spreading the spirit of commitment to the provisions of the Sharia.
• تكوين الشخصية الإسلامية المنتمية لدينها ووطنها وأمتها، والمتميزة في فهم الإسلام فهما عميقاً على وفق الوسطية والاعتدال، ويجمع بين الأصالة والمعاصرة، مستوعباً مقاصد الشريعة الإسلامية. 
• - The adoption of all programs directly and indirectly related to Arab and Islamic culture on curricula that are characterized by openness and tolerance, and taking into account the freedom of thought and belief, as endorsed by the Constitution and the National Action Charter in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
• - Working to devote a proper understanding of our Arab-Islamic heritage away from fanaticism, taking into account the values of rapprochement, respect for the other, and acceptance of different cultures.

Third - The field of scientific research:

• -Updating the teaching and research resources assigned to the faculty students. 
• - Supporting the participation of faculty members in scientific conferences, seminars and meetings.
• - Encouraging professors and students to complete field studies and prepare information related to academic programs, or related to community service.
• -Supporting joint scientific research and exchanging research experiences.
• -Enhancing the role of scientific journals by organizing their issuance on a quarterly basis and encouraging the issuance of various scientific journals.
