Department of Software Engineering
Introduction:
The Software Engineering Department was established in the academic year (2010/2011). The department is considered one of the most important departments in the Faculty of Information Technology. The Department of Software Engineering offers a distinguished program for obtaining a bachelor's degree in software engineering at the World Islamic Sciences University, as it contributes to building a generation armed with knowledge and qualified to work in the labor market. The department, in cooperation with public and private Jordanian universities, is considered a major and important element in providing basic skills and knowledge related to software engineering for specialists and contributes to the provision and acquisition of basic skills for non-specialists.
Vision:
The department's vision is in line with the vision of the faculty and the university, which is based on building a student who combines knowledge and virtue and focuses on building a scientifically and research distinguished student who is able to adapt and respond quickly by providing a distinct scientific environment that responds to the challenges of the times.
Mission
The department's message stems from the faculty's and university's mission, as the Software Engineering Department aims to prepare distinguished specialized students in the field of software engineering, promote scientific research in the specialty, and contribute to community service locally and regionally in accordance with comprehensive quality standards and ethical and professional requirements.
Objectives:
1-Providing society with a new generation of qualified students with high-quality knowledge in theory and practice.
2. Providing students with all the essential skills and knowledge to build coherent, effective and reliable scientific models and build high quality software.
3. Increasing the student's knowledge of the comprehensive theoretical framework in software engineering.

5. Developing creativity and innovation to serve the community through scientific research skills and cognitive competencies.

Knowledge and Understanding Axis
– Knowledge of the basics of software engineering required for specialization.
Analyzing a wide range of problems and providing solutions to them through algorithms, data structures, graphic representation of data and other related methods.
– Designing regular software systems and smart systems based on collecting requirements, analyzing and designing them

– Knowledge and mastery of basic skills related to the use of software and writing programs with high specifications.
– Knowledge and mastery of more than one programming language and knowledge of the features of each language and its areas of use.
– Knowledge of modern methodologies used in building and documenting software.
– Knowledge of modern theories related to software engineering and the field of applications
