All about the department

Summary:

The Councils Secretariat Department was established in 2008, when the university was established. It is a department that reports directly to the university president. It prepares the meetings of the university council, the deans’ council, the recruitment and promotion committee, and the scientific conferences and journals accreditation committee.

It undertakes all its assigned work in accordance with the laws, regulations, and instructions in force at the university, which fall within the scope of the work of the main councils at the university or any of its committees, which are shown below:

• The University Council

• The Deans’ Council

• The recruitment and promotion committee

• The scientific conferences and journals accreditation committee

The department is mainly concerned with the implementation of work related to academic and administrative affairs, within the work of the above councils and committees in the following areas:

• Establishing, merging, and canceling Faculties, departments, programs, and majors, and establishing professors’ chairs.
• Creating academic majors and approving study plans.
• Determining the number of students proposed for admission to the various programs offered by the university and determining university fees.
• Approving faculty members' recruitment, transfer, promotion, leave, keeping their services, assessment of their work, and termination of their services.
• Dispatch to obtain degrees.
• Granting degrees.
• Consider draft regulations, instructions and foundations.
• Approval of central tenders within the powers of the councils.
• Any other work related to the authorities of the above councils and committees.
