Establishment

The Maintenance and Workshops Department was established at the university on 10/15/2012. It was established because of the need to:

 

Manage maintenance work appeared as a vital activity affecting work effectiveness and productivity.

 

Huge investments in the engineering systems.

 

The significant progress in the field of technology, and the increase in the size and complexity of engineering systems and equipment.

 

The university's need for goods and services is growing exponentially, which drives up operation and the wish to prevent breakdowns.

 

The department supervises the readiness of the buildings and their general services, the implementation of new construction works, the preparation of the necessary tenders, and the follow-up of their implementation and supervises and carries out all electromechanical maintenance works including but not limited to, central heating systems, and diesel generators, and fire alarm and extinguishing systems, the electrical system for solar energy, and all mechanical and technical works.

 

Participate in the committees for receiving new buildings, and various constructional and mechanical works that are implemented by contractors, and participate in the technical study of the department's bidding committees. Maintenance and operation of the central heating devices and their networks and all mechanical and health work in campus facilities and colleges. Maintenance and Operating Section
  • The department has established an integrated work system documented with forms approved by the university presidency.
  • The department has established a special warehouse system to organize the disbursement of advances and supplies, this system is documented by approved forms from the Presidency.
  • Relying on technical staff and dispensing with many tenders.
  • Training the human cadre on all technical works.
Future plans
  • Establishing workshops and providing them with a staff capable of covering all the university's professional needs
  • Establish profitable projects that provide financial income to the university.
  • Organizing several points, including furnishing the prayer areas, providing all departments and deanships with key safes, and providing the yards with umbrellas and seats for students according to their needs.
  • Creating new departments and workshops.
Department tasks

Maintenance and Operating Section

 

1. The department, with all its sections, performs periodic maintenance after each semester as follows:

 

  • Painting buildings and colleges
  • Check out the classrooms.
  • Check plumbing
  • Air conditioner maintenance
  • Check and maintenance of wiring and electrical points, in coordination with the building supervisor and the Dean of the Faculty.

 

2. Urgent maintenance can be reported through an official letter or by contacting the number 4040, which is documented by an approved form signed by the reporter himself.

 

3. The department works with its workshops to manufacture or adjust furniture according to work needs.

 

4. Connecting the electrical wiring of relevant buildings such as cafeterias, bookstores, and security booths

 

5. Follow up on the electricity sub-meters and participate in studies of the electrical loads of the various university departments.

 

6. Preparing the necessary sanitary installations to supply the tanks with water and diesel and Follow-up on the cafeterias' consumption of water.
