الحمد لله رب العالمين، وصلى الله على سيدنا محمد وعلى آله وصحبه أجمعين، ومن تبعهم بإحسان إلى يوم الدين، فيُسعدني أن أرحب بمُنتسبي كلية الفقه المالكي، من أعضاء الهيئة التدريسية والإدارية، ومن أبنائنا الأعزاء الطلاب والطالبات، وبعد:

The Faculty of al-Maliki Jurisprudence was established in the year 2017. Given the distinctive richness characterizing the school in its fundamental principles and its secondary branches, and its geographical spread over many centuries, it necessitated specialized study that lives up to its significance. This is also due to what it represents of the jurisprudence of the early predecessors, founded upon the established practice of People of Medina, the legal opinions of Ibn Omar, the judicial rulings of Omar ibn Al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), and the practice of the community in the preferred centuries.

Our nation has habitually resorted in times of tribulation to the jurisprudence of the righteous predecessors, within the four followed schools of thought, for the purpose of regulating legal edicts and establishing the Sunni religious reference, detached from individual and private biases, which sometimes incline towards extremism in religion and at other times towards laxity, thereby endangering the integrity and stability of the Islamic social order.

وعليه فقد عمدت الكلية إلى تدريس المتون في الفقة المالكي وأصوله لمختلف البرامج الأكاديمية بحيث يتخرج الطالب متمكّنًا من المذهب أصولاً وفروعًا.

The faculty endeavors to harmonize heritage-based and temporary education, and to connect the past with the present. Therefore, it adopts the accredited books in teaching within al-Maliki Jurisprudence , in addition to the methodological scientific rooting of contemporary issues, deriving subsidiary rulings from fundamental principles, and benefiting from the capacity of the multiple fundamental principles within the Maliki School to find juristic solutions to the problems of civilization, side by side with the other three prominent juristic schools: the Hanafi, the Shafi'i, and the Hanbali, and highlighting the integrated picture of these accredited schools, showing that collectively they represent the essence of the Shari'ah, and that the Shari'ah is not located in any one of them specifically. The integration of these prominent juristic schools is capable of providing a comprehensive and balanced reference for this nation.

The Faculty of al-Maliki Jurisprudence is distinguished by its specialization in the jurisprudence of Imam Malik through Studying the internal disputes within the School at the bachelor’s and intermediate diploma levels, then examining advanced comparative differences with other schools at the postgraduate level: advanced diploma, master’s, and PhD. A specialization in the Jurisprudence of Financial Matters has been introduced, which is among the rare and important specializations, by linking juristic studies with the contemporary reality concerning financial matters. Furthermore, distance learning has been approved for Bachelor's students from outside Jordan to provide them the opportunity to receive the Islamic sciences. As for the foundational pillars upon which the College's programs are based, they are as follows:

Studying the accredited juristic books in the Maliki School: core texts, commentaries, glosses, and fundamental principles.

Training through application by practicing the established method of the School in teaching those juristic sources.

Guiding the student to refer to the different sources within the School to become acquainted with the various opinions.

Relying on textual studies, such that all instrumental sciences come to serve the text.

Gaining insight into high-level disagreements with other schools at advanced academic levels.

Future Vision

The programs of the Faculty of al-Maliki Jurisprudence are accredited by the Jordanian Higher Education Commission: the Intermediate Diploma, the Bachelor's, the Higher Diploma, the Master's, and the Doctorate. Al-Maliki Jurisprudence represents a fundamental pillar in building the civilizational identity of the nation. The College also looks forward to reviving the distinguished interdisciplinary specialization by combining juristic specialization with contemporary knowledge in economics, finance, and law, such that the student of Maliki Jurisprudence can confidently plunge into the arena of research and contemporary academic debates, combining authenticity and modernity.
