The Department of Al Shafi'i Jurisprudence and its Principles was created at the beginning of the academic year 2018/2019 in conjunction with the launch of the full-fledged Faculty of Jurisprudence Al Shafi'i.
The Department of Al Shafi'i Jurisprudence seeks to assist the local community and the official and unofficial legal institutions in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and in the Arab and Islamic countries with specialists in Al Shafi'i Jurisprudence ,and those who are rooted in the study of the doctrine, its origins, and branches, on the books of the original doctrine adopted in teaching and fatwas. The department aims to combine originality and modernity by building a correct methodology in fiqh and knowledge by paying attention to the books of authentic heritage , in addition to achieving the principle of contemporary in seeing everything new in the arena of Jurisprudence and contemporary legal education based on the latest accreditation conditions in universities and ministries of higher education.
The department is currently supervising intermediate, bachelor's, higher diploma, and master's programmes, and looks forward to completing the development of doctoral plans in Shafi'i Jurisprudence and building bridges of scientific cooperation and knowledge exchange with scientific bodies specialized in jurisprudence and knowledge deepening in the countries of the Arab and Islamic world . The department also looks forward to receiving students from Islamic communities who aspire to study Al Shafi'i Jurisprudence and its approved principles according to the correct methodology
The department aims to build the student of knowledge and raise his knowledge to the degree of specialization and excellence in science, research, and study.
