This Faculty is the mother of all university faculties. It was founded in 1990, when it followed the Ministry of Awkaf and Islamic Affairs In 1997 it was attached to Balka' University and was called the University College of Foundations of Religion. Its site was inaugurated by his Royal Highness Prince Ghazi bin Talal and became in June 2003 the official seat of the university.
To disseminate Islamic intermediate thought as it springs from the Quran and Sunna.
This is done through courses, conferences, and symposia locally and world-wide.
To provide Jordanian society as well as Arab and Islamic societies with highly professional graduate to work as teachers, proselytes and administrators.
The Faculty includes three departments: Department of Foundations of Religion, Department of proselytism and Islamic Media and Department of Quranic Recitations and Studies.
The degrees awarded are BA in Foundations of Religion and in Recitation and Islamic Studies; MA and Ph. D in Islamic Doctrine and Philosophy; MA and Ph. D in Exegesis and Quranic Sciences; MA and Ph. D in Hadeeth and its Sciences; MA in Proselytism and Islamic Media; and MA and Ph. D in Quranic Recitations and Studies.
Jordanian tawjihiyi in scientific, literary, shar'i streams with a minimum average of 70%.
BA: a minimum of 132 credit hours according to the curriculum
MA: a minimum of 33 credit hours according to the curriculum
Ph. D: a minimum of 54 credit hours according to the curriculum
